Those entrusted to the care of others when they can no longer care for themselves face a difficult predicament: a loss of mobility, the loss of autonomy, and often the loss of their identity, in some form or another.
But those who must trust others with their self care are also often faced with unreported and unacknowledged abuse at the hands of their caretakers.
Over the weekend, horrific footage emerged of a 78-year-old mother of two being ruthlessly beaten and slapped repeatedly by her 'caregiver.'
This was all caught on film.
The victim, Sabina Marsden, suffers from dementia, and her two daughters, Gina and Mandy, often look after her in the evenings and on the weekend.
